I don't know why I was so surprised when I discovered the tremendous generosity and kindness of the Billings Outlaws organization; after all, this team does belong to a city that is just as generous.
When I approached Bill Callahan of the Outlaws just one week before their playoff game to ask if they would assist us in raising funds for Dennis Moore, I never imagined that he would respond so quickly and so enthusiastically. Julie Penfold and the Outlaws staff immediately made plans for Friends of Dennis Moore to sell 50-50 raffle tickets at not only the playoff game but also the championship game. They supported us in every way. In fact, Blair Dear, without being asked, obtained an additional item for the drawing. Because of the Outlaws and all the wonderful Billings Outlaws' fans, we were able to raise $4,400 for Dennis and Vicki.
Citizens of Billings, I know you must be proud of your Outlaws because of their championship trophy, but now you have another reason to smile when you talk about your team. Please remember, however, that their compassion started with you.
The Friends of Dennis Moore wish to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to not only the awesome Billings Outlaws but also to the city of Billings. When you know someone needs your help, you are there! Thank you.
