To All Montana Families Affected by Autism:

A group of Parents in North Central Montana have formed a Montana Chapter of the Autism Society of America. The purpose is to provide information and awareness of Autism and raise money for training and resources here in Montana.

In Great Falls we have held 2 successful Autism Walks which raised over $40,000. for Autism research. Our 3rd Walk for Autism is scheduled for Saturday September 22 at Noon. The Walk will be held at Gibson Park in Great Falls. All funds raised this year will stay in Montana to provide resources for Montana Families.

We are hoping to involve more families and communities throughout Montana to be part of our efforts. We would love to hear from anyone interested in participating with us here or by working within their community.

Turn Off TV Week: April 21-27

Link: TVTurnOff.org

From April 21-27, millions of people across the country will participate in Screen Free Week. The goal of Screen Free Week is to promote active living, reduce sedentary behaviors and motivate kids, families, and adults to turn off non-educational "screen time" for a week.

Did you know…youth today spend more time in front of the TV, video and computer than they spend on anything else besides sleeping? That a recent study found that there were over 200 ads for junk food during four hours of Saturday morning TV cartoons? And that youth exposed to TV violence increasingly accept the use of violence to solve problems? Turn it off! Start planning today for a fun and active week of celebration.

For more information on how you can participate in Montana please contact the Montana Nutrition and Physical Activity Program using the contact information below or visit: http://www.tvturnoff.org

Between episodes you'll see a variety of memorable commercials, along with some musical performances from the 1950s through the 1980s.

This seventh annual performance by The Easter Seals Players, an acting troupe comprised of individuals with disabilities, will take you on a time machine trip through tv land that you're sure to enjoy.

Admission is free though donations to Easter Seals are graciously accepted. For more information call Anita or Ron at Easter Seals Wyoming at 307-672-2816.
