Are you the parent of a child struggling with a learning disability, mental health problem or a developmental disorder? Are you feeling frustrated and isolated because your child's school doesn't seem to understand your child's unique needs? Well, there is a place where St. Helena parents can go for help, a place that will empower parents to make a difference in their child's lives, ParentsCAN. ParentsCAN, or Parent-Child Advocacy Network, is a newly formed local nonprofit organization for parents of children with special needs. It's a place where parents can learn about getting the services their child has a right to get, and helping the entire family reach its fullest potential for independence and achievement.
