Deaf Education Training Opportunity

Download InfoPacket_DeafEd.pdf

The Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders, Deaf Education program of Texas Woman's University is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Federal government to assist those who plan to become teachers of the deaf. We may be able to fund your tuition and books. Project Distance Education in the Education of the Deaf, or Project DEED, will allow trainees throughout the country to take all required courses for deaf education certification in a distance education (DE) format. We will fund a cadre of eight well-qualified individuals in the TWU teacher preparation program for teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

We are especially interested in supporting men, minorities, disabled, general and special education teachers, and deaf trainees (even if they are receiving some support from the vocational rehabilitation agency in their state) from across the United States. We encourage you to read our application materials carefully, and complete all sections, so that we can best determine if you qualify for grant support.
