Drug prevention for early childhood

TITLE: Drug prevention for early childhood

PUBLISHER: RMC Research Corporation

FORMAT: CURRICULUM

This set of drug prevention materials from the U.S. Department of Education contains picture books for children, guides for parents and caregivers, a parent’s magazine, and a home visitors guide. This curriculum was developed by the Department of Education’s Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program and the Office of Educational Research and Improvement as a means of introducing preschool children to the important skills and attitudes they will need to avoid drug use later on. The materials for children do not directly address drugs or drug use. Instead, the stories are designed to help children build self-confidence, develop decision making and critical thinking skills, and understand limits.
